A soft, unglazed rectangle, I would describe it as an almost-square, or a fat rectangle if you asked me :-) In a traditional style, yet the angle of the corners are very soft rather than sharp edges, the pot sits on straight recessed feet, basal banding and a slight lip to the rim with a detail that is finished with a refined raised border, complementing the overall 'shibui'
Designed by Yuuji Nakano, a 2nd-generation artist from the GYOUZAN kiln, he has regrettably retired.
Stamped with the artist's seal.
