Artisan-made Japanese bonsai pot from the Masuyama kiln of Tokoname.
This rectangular Japanese pot features recessed, rounded grooved corners that extend through the stepped feet, and it is accompanied by an internal rim, middle band, and a seal of Masuyama underneath.
A great colour clay with a good patina that has already developed over some years.
The rounded rectangle is softer than a square-edged one, but the middle band create a powerful, balanced image.
External dimensions: 41cm x 31cm x 10.2cm
Condition: Good, with very little use; however, I noticed a repaired dent on one of the legs. It appears that someone attempted to repair it with some paint in the past. I am pointing with a pencil to the location for you to see.
The price has been reduced by £40 at my expense to account for this fault, which I did not notice when I purchased the pot, and shipping!
