Description:
A striking handmade Japanese bonsai pot by Fuka(風香), produced in a rectangular form, chohogata(長方形), with a strong flared lip and a clean internal rim, uchibuchi(内縁). The shape has a firm, balanced profile with gently sloping walls and softened corners, giving the pot a powerful but refined appearance suitable for display-quality bonsai.

The glaze is especially attractive, showing a rich layered surface of turquoise-blue, deep indigo, green, ochre-yellow and darker iron tones. The running glaze effect, nagare-yu(流れ釉), creates dramatic vertical movement across the walls, while the speckled crystalline texture gives the pot excellent depth and character. Although originally described as light cream, the images show this piece as a highly expressive blue-green glazed pot with golden highlights and darker mottled areas.

The rim has a pronounced lip, kuchibuchi(口縁), which gives the pot a strong visual frame and enhances the sense of balance. The lower body is supported by four raised feet, ashi(足), with an incised and slightly sculptural form. The feet and corners show small areas of exposed clay, adding contrast against the glossy glaze and giving the piece a handmade artisan quality.

The interior is clean and practical, with two large drainage holes, mizunuki-ana(水抜き穴), and four smaller wiring holes, harigane-ana(針金穴), making it fully suitable for bonsai cultivation. The underside is glazed and bears the impressed Fuka mark, confirming the maker.

A beautiful and highly decorative Japanese bonsai pot with excellent colour movement, strong proportions, and a distinctive glaze surface. Ideal for shohin or small bonsai, especially trees that suit a cool-toned glazed container.
