Description:
A contemporary handmade Japanese bonsai pot (
手作り盆栽鉢) by the modern Tokoname potter Fukuda Keiun (福田慶雲).
This rectangular form (
長方形) is made from refined white clay (白土) and finished in a vivid yellow crackle glaze (黄釉・貫入), with a fine and evenly developed network of crazing visible across the surface. The glaze continues over the basal band (高台周りの帯), giving the pot a unified and visually grounded appearance.
The form terminates in a soft, understated lip (
控えめな口縁), without a defined or averted rim, and stands on carefully shaped cloud feet (雲足). The overall proportions are stable and well balanced (安定感のある姿), making the pot suitable for shohin to small chuhin bonsai.
On the underside, Fukuda Keiun’s hand-incised signature (
慶雲銘) is clearly visible, together with a practical arrangement of drainage and wiring holes (排水穴・針金穴), reflecting sound contemporary Tokoname construction.
