製品詳細 (Product Details): ON HOLD Not for SALE! might be for one of my pines.

Region: Tokoname 常滑市
Kiln: Gyouzan 行山窯
Potter: Nakano Yukizyou 中野雪城 (1st Generation)

A vintage artisan-made, oval bonsai pot featuring a smooth, unglazed (無釉 muyū) surface that beautifully showcases the warm, groggy clay’s natural texture. The pot rests on recessed, cut feet, demonstrating exquisite craftsmanship.
The raised lip detail is finished with a refined raised border, perfectly complementing the overall shibui (渋い) design — understated, elegant, and balanced.
Over decades, the clay has developed a rich patina, enhancing the pot’s organic wabi-sabi (侘寂) character and timeless beauty.
The soft oval shape creates a harmonious silhouette, ideal for highlighting the natural aesthetics of your bonsai.
This piece is hand-signed (tegaki shomei 手書き署名) by Nakano Yukizyou himself, making it a rare and highly collectable example of Tokoname’s finest unglazed bonsai ware.

適した樹種 (Suitable Tree Types):

Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum モミジ) — especially stunning in autumn colours, Trident Maple (Acer buergerianum トリデントカエデ) — its refined branching complements the pot’s softness. Pine (Pinus ) — classic bonsai that contrasts beautifully with the smooth clay, Ficus (Ficus retusa フィカス) — ideal for indoor bonsai lovers, Azalea (Rhododendron indicum ツツジ) — seasonal flowers add vibrant contrast, Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia ニレ) — hardy and versatile to highlight the pot’s form

外寸 (External Dimensions): 48.5 × 42 × 12 cm

状態 (Condition): Excellent vintage condition with natural signs of age that contribute to its rich patina. No cracks or chips; very well preserved.

Gyouzan - Yukizyou Nakano
Generally considered the best living Japanese potter for unglazed pots, Yukizyou Nakano, and his son-in-law, Yuuji Nakano, of the Gyouzan kiln,
They also produce some superb glazed pieces.
Yukizyou Nakano was born in 1940. He is referred to in Japan as 'Nakano 'Arukisan', or Nakano 'row three'.
He is a true master of his craft, and his pots display superb detail and refinement in their design and finish.
Drainage holes are often quirky shapes and arranged in patterns, and the undersides of the pots often show great attention to detail.
Unglazed pots.
