The pot is made from high-fired yakishime (焼締) stoneware, with a warm, matte brown clay body and natural speckling. Over time, the surface will continue to develop a refined patina (古色, koshoku), embodying the aesthetic spirit of wabi-sabi (侘び寂び) — a quiet beauty found in imperfection and age.
The rectangular form features slightly flared walls (反り鉢, sori-bachi) and intricately framed recessed panels on each face — a traditional kakumimoyo (角見模様) element that provides subtle visual depth while maintaining classical restraint. The pot rests on four sturdy 切足 (kiri-ashi / cut feet), ensuring proper elevation and drainage essential for healthy root systems.
