A refined handmade Japanese bonsai pot by Ryuji（龍司）, from the Tokoname ceramic tradition of Aichi Prefecture（常滑市）. This piece is made in an elegant oval form, daen-bachi（楕円鉢）, with a calm, balanced profile and a strong traditional character.
The pot is finished in warm brown unglazed Tokoname clay, muyu（無釉）, showing a subtle natural sheen and fine clay texture. The surface has developed a pleasing aged appearance, jidai-kan（時代感）, with gentle patina and tonal variation that enhance the quiet, mature character of the piece.
A key feature of this pot is the raised bamboo-style mid band, takefushi-obi（竹節帯）, running around the body. This gives the pot a distinctive rhythm and structure, adding visual strength while remaining understated. The body has a soft outward flare, with a clean upper lip, kuchibuchi（口縁）, creating a stable and elegant sense of balance.
The lower body is supported by recessed cut feet, hikkomi-ashi / kiri-ashi（引込み足・切足）, giving the pot a slightly floating appearance when viewed from the side. The underside is neatly finished and includes a large central drainage hole, mizunuki-ana（水抜き穴）, additional drainage holes, and smaller wiring holes, harigane-ana（針金穴）, making the pot fully practical for bonsai cultivation.
