Description: A vintage artisan-made Japanese bonsai pot (和鉢, wabachi) of round drum form (太鼓形, taiko-gata), featuring a cut-off bowl profile with straight body walls and a subtly recessed internal rim (内縁). The exterior is decorated with applied rivet-style detailing arranged in both upper and lower bands (胴帯), giving the pot a strong architectural character and a powerful sense of balance. The unglazed purple-brown clay (紫土系) shows a rich, groggy texture (土味の強い胎土) and has developed an attractive natural patina (経年の味わい) over decades. The low foot-drum base (太鼓足) is cleanly finished and well proportioned, contributing to the overall stability and classical appearance of the piece.
Note the water and wiring holes (水抜き穴), well spaced and suitable for practical bonsai use.
