A contemporary artisan-made 小品盆栽用の鉢 (shohin bonsai pot) by Satomi Terahata, featuring a refined, deep cobalt blue glaze with subtle gradient variations. The pot has a clean, minimalist lip with no rim, リム無し (rim nashi), and slightly recessed straight feet that provide an elegant, stable base. The underside showcases the potter's distinctive seal, 作家の刻印 (sakka no kokuin), authenticating its craftsmanship. This piece beautifully combines form and function, ideal for small bonsai with moderate trunk thickness, and is designed with both 排水穴 (haisui ana) and ワイヤリング穴 (waiaringu ana) for practical bonsai cultivation.

Condition: Excellent! No chips or cracks, there are some minor scratches on the glaze that comes noticeable under the light and camera lens.

Satomi Terahata (寺幡 サトミ) is a contemporary Japanese bonsai potter, known for her exceptional craftsmanship and unique glazing techniques. She is the daughter of Mayama Mazan, the founder of the Terahata kiln in Seto, Japan. Continuing her father’s legacy, Satomi now runs the Terahata kiln and produces high-quality bonsai pots that combine traditional Seto techniques with her own artistic style. Her works are celebrated for their elegance, meticulous detail, and harmonious glazes. Satomi's pots are highly regarded by bonsai enthusiasts and collectors alike, and she has become a respected figure in the bonsai pottery community.
